Luis Robert Jr. went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a 7-2 win over the Red Sox on Sunday.

Despite the White Sox scoring seven runs, there was no major star for their offense. It is nice to see some solid production for Robert Jr., who is still slashing just .223/.275/.395 on the season in what has been an incredibly disappointing year. He should still be on fantasy rosters due to his elite upside, but you can bench him in shallower formats if you have a deep enough bench.

CWS Starting Pitcher #77

Chris Flexen allowed two runs on six hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Flexen struck out six and walked one while posting a 26 percent whiff rate and 25 percent CSW on the day. Nothing was over-powering here, but Flexen missed bats with his curve and was yet another pitcher to simply challenge the Red Sox with fastballs and win. Oh, Flexen throws 91.8 mph. He’s lined up to face the Athletics and Angels in his next two starts, so could be worth an add in deeper formats.

Korey Lee is back behind the plate Sunday after missing two games with back stiffness.

The White Sox lost both games in Lee’s absence, so this is big for them. Chuckie Robinson returns to the bench.

Colson Montgomery went 3-for-5 for Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and is 9-for-20 with two homers this month.

This might be the hottest the White Sox’s (former?) No. 1 prospect has been all season. By month, he’s posted OPSs of .682, .768, .669, .657 and .667 before starting off September here at 1.250. It’s probably too late to get him a callup now, but just ending on an encouraging note here would be big after such a dreary season.

Andrew Benintendi hit a three-run homer and went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

Benintendi got the White Sox back in the game with a three-run homer in the seventh that shrunk the Boston lead to 7-5. It’s the 16th homer for the 30-year-old, and it comes against the team that employed him for quite some time. The pop has been decent for Benintendi, the .223/.288/.385 slash has made it not matter too much for fantasy consideration.

CWS Starting Pitcher #45

Garrett Crochet gave up four runs in two innings in a loss Saturday to the Red Sox.

Crochet’s start was cut short because of his strict regimen for the rest of the season, but might have been cut short regardless. The 25-year-old needed 51 pitches to get through his two frames, and he gave up four runs in the first before settling down in the second. Crochet’s numbers have imploded in the second half, as he’s now up to 3.83 ERA after carrying a number 3.02 prior to the All-Star break, and it’s fair to say he’s worn down in his first year as a starter. He’ll have another short outing against the Athletics on Friday — assuming he isn’t shut down, of course.

Korey Lee wanted back in the lineup for the White Sox on Saturday, but the team decided to give him one more day.

Lee is out of the lineup for a second straight game with back stiffness.
Nick Nastrini

CWS Starting Pitcher #43

Nick Nastrini will pitch out of the pen going forward, according to the White Sox.

Nastrini fell to 0-7 with a 7.79 ERA when he lost to the Orioles on Tuesday. We figured he’d be sent down after that one, but he’ll stick as a middle man, it seems. The White Sox plan to use a bullpen game in Nastrini’s previously scheduled Monday start against the Guardians.
Miguel Vargas

CWS Third Baseman #20

Miguel Vargas (eye) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Red Sox.

It’s a positive sign to see Vargas back at third base and batting eighth after missing a pair of contests following an on-field collision earlier this week in which he suffered a left eye abrasion.

Lee remains sidelined after being scratched from Friday’s lineup due to back tightness. It’ll be Chuckie Robinson handling the catching duties in his absence.
