Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Rockies.

Milwaukee couldn’t get anything going in this one. They had just three hits, none for extra-bases, and scored their lone run because of a two-out error by Ryan McMahon. Hoskins did drive that run in though as he tries to pull himself out of a miserable months-long stretch. His OPS is just .657 since the All-Star break.
Freddy Peralta

MIL Starting Pitcher #51

Freddy Peralta allowed seven hits and three runs with two walks and four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

This was a vintage Peralta start, and not in a good way. He missed tons of bats with 18 swings-and-misses in total, but could not get ahead of hitters or stay around the zone enough to put anyone away. His innings were long and eventually Hoby Milner allowed a home run after Peralta had left the game to let two more inherited runners score. He’ll have to be better in his next scheduled start against the Diamondbacks on the road.
Sal Frelick

Sal Frelick is sitting Sunday for the fifth time in the Brewers’ last eight games.

It’s a lefty-lefty matchup, but the Brewers have often kept Frelick in the lineup against southpaws when he’s going well, and he’s also been on the bench against a couple of righties during this stretch. He’s just clearly behind Blake Perkins on the depth chart at the moment, and the Brewers don’t consider either he or Garrett Mitchell everyday players.
Isaac Collins

Brewers selected the contract of INF/OF Isaac Collins from Triple-A Nashville.

Collins, a 27-year-old switch-hitter, will be making his major league debut after hitting .273/.386/.475 with 14 homers and 24 steals for Nashville. He can play second, third and all three outfield spots, potentially making him a nice role player if he can keep his OBP up in the majors. He’ll probably play primarily against lefties for the Brewers. His platoon splits were perfectly even in the minors this year, but he was far better against southpaws last season.

Brewers optioned OF Brewer Hicklen to Triple-A Nashville.

Hicklen went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts during his week with the Brewers. On the plus side, he did put a ball in play this time; he was 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in his previous major league action with the Royals in 2022.

Brewers transferred OF Christian Yelich from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.

Yelich is out for the year after undergoing back surgery last month.

Devin Williams tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Rockies on Saturday.

The save was Williams’ ninth of the year. He looked like his old dominant self as he struck out the side in order. His changeup was as devastating as ever. Williams has a 1.84 ERA this year. It’s becoming apparent that he’s going to be one of the top closing options in fantasy for the rest of this year and 2025.
William Contreras

William Contreras went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run against the Rockies on Saturday.

Contreras’ home run was his 21st of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Ty Blach in the third inning. Conteras has four home runs and eight RBI in his last 11 games. He’s hitting .278 with an .823 OPS and 82 RBI on the year.
Willy Adames

MIL Shortstop #27

Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two stolen bases against the Rockies on Saturday.

The home run was Adames’ 30th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Ty Blach in the first inning. He has 18 stolen bases on the year now. Adames is hitting .253 with an .808 OPS and 101 RBI this season. He might lack notoriety, but Adames has been a fantasy stud this year.
Tobias Myers

MIL Starting Pitcher #36

Tobias Myers allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Brewers’ 5-2 victory over the Rockies on Saturday.

Myers gave up four hits, walked one and struck out 11. The win was his seventh of the year. Myers has been outstanding for a good portion of the season. His 2.22 ERA since June 1st is third among starting pitchers. Myers has a 2.93 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 112 strikeouts in 120 innings on the season. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Giants on the road next week.
