Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Sunday against the Marlins.

The Phillies didn’t get on the board until the ninth inning in a game where they trailed 10-0 at the end of the third. Alas, Harper smashed a 106.6 MPH single to dampen the embarrassment just a tad. While he’s hit for a high average of late, Harper is in a deep power-drought with just one home run in his last 30 games.

PHI Starting Pitcher #56

Seth Johnson lasted just 2 1/3 innings and gave up eight hits and nine runs in a loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

Johnson’s major league debut was one to forget. Connor Norby took him deep in the first inning and the onslaught had commenced. All in all, he allowed seven hard-hit balls and didn’t strike out a batter in his very short day of work. It’s unlikely he gets another turn in the Phillies’ rotation, but if he does it will come next weekend against the Mets.

Phillies placed INF Edmundo Sosa on the 10-day injured list with back spasms.

Sosa will be forced to miss at least a week-plus while he recovers. The 28-year-old has a chance to return to Philadelphia near the end of the season. Seth Johnson was recalled from Triple-A in the corresponding transaction.

Phillies recalled RHP Seth Johnson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Johnson gets the promotion to make the start Sunday against Miami. The right-hander has posted a 2.33 ERA in 83/42 K/BB over his 23 appearances. His control has been an issue and he may not be able to get deep in games, but this is certainly a friendly first matchup for an MLB debut.

J.T. Realmuto (knee) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Marlins.

Realmuto is expected to be back soon from his left knee contusion, but fantasy managers will have to wait at least one more day before that happens. Aramis Garcia is starting in Realmuto’s absence and hitting ninth.

Marcus Lee Sang made his Triple-A debut Saturday and went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored.

The 23-year-old Lee Sang was hitting .239/.297/.397 in Double-A, so he hasn’t really advanced his cause as a prospect this season. He has a little pop and is a quality defender, so there’s still a chance for him, more likely as a bench player than as a regular.
Bryson Stott

PHI Second Baseman #5

Bryson Stott went 3-for-4 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI against the Marlins on Saturday.

Stott had a solid day at the plate in the Phillies’ loss to the Marlins, collecting three hits. He started with base hits in the first and sixth innings, then doubled to drive in a run in the eighth before scoring on a single by Brandon Marsh. It was Stott’s fourth multi-hit game in his last four contests. The 26-year-old second baseman is slashing .249/.322/.373 with 11 homers, 60 runs scored, 54 RBI, and 29 steals across 506 plate appearances.
Aaron Nola

Aaron Nola allowed five runs -- four earned -- with five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.

Nola came into this one with just four total earned runs allowed over his last four starts. He matched that against the Marlins. Connor Norby took him deep for a two-run shot in the first inning. Jonah Bride added a run with a base hit in the third. Norway brought another run in to score with a base hit in the fourth. Bride took Nola deep for a solo homer to lead off the fifth. The 31-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 167/45 K/BB ratio across 177 innings. He’ll take on the Mets in Philadelphia on Friday.
Jose Cuas

PHI Relief Pitcher #74

Phillies claimed RHP Jose Cuas off waivers from the Blue Jays.

Cuas heads to Triple-A Lehigh Valley as extra organizational relief depth after being designated for assignment earlier this week by Toronto. The 30-year-old righty has made 13 relief appearances this season between the Cubs and Blue Jays.
